On July 24th, 2026, the Greenville Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) just wrapped up one of its most impactful days yet—and the community is better for it. In partnership with the South Carolina Bar Association, a single, energizing session produced 14 wills and 14 powers of attorney for residents ready to take control of their futures, all thanks to attorneys who generously volunteered their time and expertise.

The turnout told a powerful story: 3 Greenville County employees, in addition to Human Relations Commission program participants and other members of the Greenville Community.  With each power of attorney and will created, it aids in safeguarding someone's family, health decisions, and hard-earned assets.

The day could not have happened without the volunteer attorneys: Zack Ohanesian, Lawson Wetli, Ava Cabe, and Rosemerry Felder-Commander. Their generosity turned legal expertise into lasting protection for families across Greenville. In addition, two notaries, Gina Wong and Martin Watson, were on site to have documents notarized as soon as attorneys finished completing the documents! A one-stop shop was created by Human Relations staff, attorneys, and other volunteers that made the day run smoothly!

Legacy planning isn't just paperwork; it's peace of mind. It's knowing your loved ones won't be left scrambling with unanswered questions during life's hardest moments. Days like this remind us that protecting your future is possible—and accessible—for everyone.
