A recent anonymous survey shows that the Greenville County Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) is making a truly positive impact. The CFE Fund, a funder of the Greenville County Human Relations Commission, sent out an anonymous survey to Greenville Financial Empowerment clients who utilized financial counseling services during the summer & fall of 2026. Based on the client survey responses provided, the Greenville County Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The Greenville Financial Empowerment Center provides free financial counseling, focusing on building savings, paying down debt, increasing credit scores, evaluating suitable banking products, and legacy planning. Trained financial counselors meet one-on-one with individuals to help them craft strategies to help them reach their financial goals.

The survey highlights three major strengths: client satisfaction, financial education, and personalized financial counseling. Respondents frequently praised counselors for helping them understand credit, manage debt, create budgets, and develop achievable financial goals.

The latest offering of legacy planning received high marks from 54 respondents stating that counselors were knowledgeable and the service to create wills, power of attorney, and healthcare directive documents felt more accessible now that the Financial Empowerment Center provides the service.
